Assistant Professor – Extension Apiculture Specialist
The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology currently is seeking an assistant professor of apiculture (12-month tenure-track, 100% Extension). The successful applicant will develop and deliver a vibrant Extension Apiculture educational program with a supporting applied-research component designed to resolve problems of importance to the beekeeping industry in Tennessee. Ph.D. assistantship in the laboratory of Dr. Hadziabdic Guerry
The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology has an opening for a person interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in EPP concentrating in Bioinformatics and Genomics or Organismal Biology, Ecology, and Systematics (depending on the interests of the student) under the direction of Dr. Denita Hadziabdic Guerry. The research project will involve laboratory and field research aimed at elucidating the impact of the fungal microbiome on plant-pathogen interactions, with a focus on Thousand Cankers disease of walnuts.
