Assistant Professor – Extension Apiculture Specialist
The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology currently is seeking an assistant professor of apiculture (12-month tenure-track, 100% Extension). The successful applicant will develop and deliver a vibrant Extension Apiculture educational program with a supporting applied-research component designed to resolve problems of importance to the beekeeping industry in Tennessee. Screening of applicants will begin May 15, 2018 and will continue until the position is filled. Current Openings for Graduate Student Positions

M.S. and Ph.D. assistantships 
Th Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology has openings for individuals interested in pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in EPP concentrating in Bioinformatics and Genomics. The successful applicants will perform research focused on the molecular and genetic characterization of field-evolved fall armyworm resistance to transgenic Bt corn and the development of high throughput technologies for resistance monitoring of field populations. The successful candidates will be expected to perform the research plan under the supervision of Dr. Jurat-Fuentes, keep current and organized research records, present his/her research data at professional meetings, and prepare data and manuscripts for publication in appropriate peer-reviewed journals.
