Session 1: The Role of Media in Forming Your Own Political Identity
October 2, 2020 @ 2:15 pm - 3:05 pm EDT
The Reality is… Your Vote Does Matter
On behalf of the Office of Multicultural Student Life, we would like to personally invite you to attend our Annual Diversity Dialogue Symposium from Tuesday, September 29th – October 2nd. This year’s theme centers around the theme “What Your History Books Don’t Tell You: The Reality Is” and will cover a variety of topics centered around marginalized identities and the erasure from US History. We will be hosting the Symposium over Zoom, and we invite you to RSVP today. We encourage each of you to attend as many sessions as possible, but we do provide the opportunity to select which you are available to attend. For faculty and staff, this is an excellent way to engage your classes. You will notice most sessions fall during class periods each day, and we want to encourage you to bring entire classes and use this as an opportunity to be in a communal learning space.
Should you choose to bring your classes, please ask your students to RSVP so that we may share content with them after the event concludes. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Ronni Williams, Assistant Director in Multicultural Student Life at ronni@utk.edu with any questions or accessibility accommodations. Thank you, and we hope to see you there!
