On Monday, December 2, 2024, the EPP Social Committee hosted its Annual Winter Awards Banquet. The event brought together faculty, staff, students, and their families for an evening of celebration. This gathering recognizes outstanding achievements, fosters departmental unity, and celebrates everyone’s dedication and hard work.
One of the evening’s highlights was a game of Family Feud: EPP Edition. The game brought out the competitive spirit and provided plenty of laughter. After a few exciting rounds, Team Orange claimed victory.
The banquet also celebrated the accomplishments of the department’s summer and fall 2024 graduates: Ally Crowder, Beant Kapoor, Matthew Longmire, Swati Mishra, Shade Niece, Alina Pokhrel, Zane Smith and Makhali Voss.
Institute professor Ernest Bernard announced the 2024 EPP Departmental Awards. Here are this year’s award categories and recipients:
- Charles Wheeler Most Outstanding M.S. Student Award in Entomology: Hannah Ginn
- Distinguished Alumni Award in Entomology and Plant Pathology: Anni Self
- Russell and Bobbie Bull Outstanding Ph.D. Graduate Student Award in Entomology: Rajeev Roy
- Outstanding Ph.D. Graduate Student Award in Plant Pathology: Elias Zuchelli
- Pless Award Outstanding Technical Staff: Wesly Crowder
