In 2021, numerous individuals in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology were honored with prestigious awards, showcasing their outstanding contributions to agriculture.
- EPP Diversity & Inclusion Committee: Named the 2021 winner of the Dr. Marva Rudolph Diversity and Inclusion Unit Excellence Award, recognizing their exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion at UT.
- Professor Scott Stewart: Awarded the Entomological Society of America (ESA) Southeastern Branch Award for Excellence in Integrated Pest Management and nominated for the National ESA Excellence in Integrated Pest Management Award.
- Professor Frank Hale: Recognized with the ESA Southeastern Branch Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension and nominated for the National ESA Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension.
- Autumn McLaughlin: Honored as the 2021 recipient of the Kirby L. Hays Award for Outstanding M.S. Graduate Student.
- Dave Paulsen: Selected as the recipient of the 2021 Herbert College of Agriculture Outstanding Staff Award.
- Julian Cosner: Secured 1st place in the M.S. Student Oral Presentations at the ESA Southeastern Branch Annual Meeting and delivered an Invited Speaker presentation on “Entomological Benefits of IDM: Integrated Diversity Management”.
- Jessica Krob: Achieved 2nd place in the M.S. Student Oral Presentations at the ESA Southeastern Branch Annual Meeting.
- UT Entomology Games Team (UT Blue-tick Hounds): Secured 3rd place in the Competition at the ESA Southeastern Branch Annual Meeting. The team consisted of Julian Cosner, Kassie Hollabaugh, Dawson Kerns, and the team caption Matthew Longmire.
- Kadie Britt: Successfully defended her dissertation and fulfilled all requirements for graduation.
